DAIRY-FREE AVOCADO JALAPENO POPPERS 🌶(gluten-free)✨

Updated: Nov 3

These EASY stuffed jalapeno peppers are the perfect game-day snack for football season, picnics, holiday parties... or, any time.

You won't even notice the heavy cream cheese is missing because it is replaced with rich mashed avocado. So, you still get the fatty taste your mouth expects but from GOOD fats with ~75% fewer calories than the same amount of regular cream cheese.

The first time I made these, I lied and told Mr. No Portion Control Cheesehead that the poppers were filled with avocado AND cream cheese (don't judge me 😆). He ate all of them and asked to have more the next day.😁

DAIRY-FREE AVOCADO JALAPENO POPPERS (gluten-free)

Slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. You could use a spoon or knife to clean out the peppers, but I find it easier to just get in there with my hands.

DAIRY-FREE JALAPENO POPPERS

Mix your stuffing ingredients. It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth... just thoroughly mixed.

DAIRY-FREE JALAPENO POPPERS

Fill each jalapeno pepper half with the stuffing mixture.

Place the filled peppers onto a baking sheet. Optional: Top with Cholula/hot sauce and shredded 'cheese'.

Air-Fryer Whole PERUVIAN CHICKEN (dairy-free, gluten-free)

Bake until the meat is cooked through and the peppers are slightly softened.

DAIRY-FREE AVOCADO JALAPENO POPPERS (dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free)

INGREDIENTS:

4 jalapeno peppers, sliced in half lengthwise and seeded (try to keep the stem in tact).

2 small avocados

Juice from 1/2 lemon

1/4 lb ground meat

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

Cholula or hot sauce, optional

Shredded dairy-free cheese, optional

Cilantro and pickled onions for garnish

DIRECTIONS:

✔️ Preheat oven to 380 F.

✔️ Slice and seed jalapenos.

✔️ In a bowl, mix the avocado, lemon juice, meat, salt, cumin, garlic, and onion powder together (the filling does not have to be perfectly smooth).

✔️ Fill each jalapeno half with the meat-avocado mixture.

✔️ Place the jalapeno halves on a baking sheet.

✔️ Top with shredded cheese and hot sauce (optional).

✔️ Bake for ~15 minutes until the peppers are somewhat tender.

✔️ Garnish with cilantro and chopped pickled onions.

✔️ Serve warm... ENJOY!

I usually keep homemade meatballs on-hand in the freezer and used a couple of them in the filling the first time I made these... SO GOOD!😎

These were made with some ground lamb I had leftover in the fridge... JUST AS GOOD!🥰
